The origin of the Daneveldet in Scandinavia has gone into oblivion, and it would perhaps have remained there if the linguist Håkon Melberg (1911-1990) had not uncovered it and documented it thoroughly in "Origin of the Scandinavian Nations and Languages", two volumes of 950 pages, printed in 1953. The essence is that Nordvegen, Norway, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Icelandic, both the country name, language and nationality, are the result of ein Daneekspansjon in Scandinavia in the period 200 – 500 AD" (ivar fylling).
