1142272. SALVADOR DALÍ. VISION OF AN ANGEL BRONZE SCULPTURE.

Description

Within a few years, from 1969 to 1972, Dali created a gallery of surreal images embedded in wax. Most of them are familiar to the audience - the artist, creating sculptures, used the same images that appear on his canvases. Almost all of the sculptures were created in Dali's house in Port Ligate. According to the stories of Dali biographer Robert Descharnes, the artist carried the wax into the pool in the afternoons and spent several hours modeling it. After dinner he returned to the studio to paint. "Vision of an Angel" is dedicated to the unity of man and God. The image of the Creator is represented in this mystical sculpture of the right thumb, from which all things come (like the branches of a tree trunk). “Finger of God” - a symbol of the divine will, also reminiscent of the tower… Man created by God is similar to the Creator, but God is omnipotent and the person will never be able to beat him, what knowledge would he had. A human form resembling a tree whose branches reach up to the sky and whose roots are firmly attached to the land shows the essence of man in two ways.
Limited edition 82/350, Dali signed, dimensions: length and width: 34 cm, height: 41 cm.

The sculpture was sold last year in China for €30,709. You can find it on artprice.com: https://de.artprice.com/artist/6866/salvador-dali/sculpture-volume/17498151/vision-of-the-angel?lots_search_uniq_id=-2485812445655779863&keyword=salvador+dali+ sculpture+volume+vision+of+the+angel.
