Publius Cornelius Tacitus, born around 55, died around 120, was a Roman historian, writer and statesman, who belonged to the senatorial class. He became praetor in 88 and consul in 97, after which he was then appointed proconsul in the province of Asia in 112. Source Wikipedia.

The band is heavily sunken and stained, but well held together. Title label on spine rubbed. Rich with underlining and marginal notes in the insert, probably contemporary. Some bearing stains, but not severe.
