Welcome to our themed auction, Sculpture. We have gathered a wide range of three-dimensional art spanning from classical to modern, abstract to realistic – and everything in between.
For those who prefer something more traditional, we offer a Byzantine horse inspired by the magnificent horses at Blasieholmstorg in Stockholm, which in turn are inspired by the ancient "Byzantine horses" outside St. Mark's Basilica in Venice.
And for those drawn to a freer and more mythical aesthetic, we have Henrik Allert’s beloved organic bird sculptures and David Westerling’s abstract interpretation of “Mother Earth.” Both pieces express, in their own way, a deeper connection between art and life.
Another sculpture worth mentioning, with a more realistic expression, is Carin Nilsson’s “Boel-Britt” from the 1930s. Although there is little information about the origins of “Boel-Britt,” she conveys a lot through her pose, radiating both strength and tenderness.
Among the auction’s highlights, we also find Stig Blomberg’s “Leisure Girl,” also known as “Spring.” This sculpture, first shown at the Leisure Exhibition in Ystad in 1936, has become a symbol of the joy, freedom, and innocence so typical of childhood. It is a brilliant example of Blomberg’s skill in creating works that feel both timeless and immediately recognizable.
So why not come and experience the diversity of art with us at our thematic sculpture auction? Let us be inspired, enchanted, and perhaps even surprised together.
