Hälsinglands Auktionsverk has adorned its displays in the colors of Finland and offers over 100 lots of design originating from our eastern neighbor. Unsurprisingly, the theme is filled with glass, silver, and lighting fixtures of excellent quality. Nevertheless, a couple of highlights can be found in other areas. To start with, Finnish glass takes a prominent position, spanning from Iittala's Ice Age romantic creations in asymmetrical forms to the country's art glass in vibrant colors, often red and blue, with depth in expression. Examples of both can be found here. Timo Sarpaneva's champagne glasses from the Arkipelago series have that rugged quality but also the solemnity that makes them perfect in the hands of New Year's revelers. In comparison, Kaj Franck's colored decanter is something entirely different with its multicolored rooster-shaped stopper. On the silver side, there are jewelry pieces by Björn Weckström, Tapio Wirkkala, and Zoltan Popvits. Among the lamps, there hangs quite a wild creation by Helena Tynell from the ceiling, and, almost as expected, the selection also features a onion-shaped classic by Lisa Johansson-Pape.
Now, about the auction's top lots. One of them is Toini Muona's turquoise-green stoneware vase. Another is Moominmamma, and a third is Moominpappa, both from Atelier Fauni.
Feel warmly welcome to explore the offering and discover your own favorites.
