Garpenhus Auktioner is honored to present a theme entirely dedicated to Nils-Göran Brunner. Brunner is known today as one of the many landscape painters of Skåne, but he received his education in Stockholm. In 1949, he enrolled at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm, where he remained until 1954. At Garpenhus, we encounter Brunner's work in small formats with color palettes in beige and gray, but also in the imposing, almost half-meter wide "Haväng, Österlen," where we are met with a vast, seemingly endless (let's call it open) landscape with a low horizon. In total, 16 oil paintings are offered, providing a representative selection of Nils-Göran Brunner's artistic work.
