Birger Nilsson's Weapon & Militaria Collection: Part 2

We are pleased to present the second of a total of three special auctions featuring weapons and militaria from the renowned collector Birger Nilsson of Bara, who, starting in the 1950s, dedicated himself passionately to the collecting of arms. All weapons are in good condition, and Birger himself described the aim of the collection as preserving both the appearance and mechanics as they were when the items were originally in use. He therefore reviewed most of the pieces both mechanically and cosmetically.
With few exceptions, all weapons are in full working order, and most of the locks hold both at full and half-cock. The varied collection spans from the 17th to the 19th century, with many of the objects consisting of Swedish military firearms and edged weapons. This time, highlights include a fine Swedish sword from the mid-1700s, a German percussion rifle from just over a century later, and a pallash model 1773 issued to troopers of the Northern Scania Cavalry Regiment and the Royal Life Regiment of Horse in Stockholm.
