We’ve reached that time of year when the sun never sets. And it almost seems as though the person in charge of the book department at Crafoord Auctions in Lund never goes home either. There’s a steady flow of literature being presented with impressive regularity, and now it’s time once again. This time, the catalogue comprises just over 220 lots, and as usual, the range is remarkably diverse. Three standout highlights help illustrate this breadth: Lorenz Heister’s medical bible Institutiones chirurgicae in its first edition, Lennart Nilsson’s iconic photograph The Thumb-Sucker, and a rather fantastic collection of Tomtar och troll. Alongside these are books on topics such as pataphysics, botany, zoology, politics, militaria, and art – to name but a few.
