Description

LED Light. Diameter 36, depth 4cm The lamp is part of the concept "Polarized Portraits" developed for the Adorno Gallery in Copenhagen and is a collection of lamps in different sizes and shapes that explore the properties of polarized light - an optical phenomenon that occurs when light waves oscillate in a single plane.
"Polarized Portraits" uses polarizing filters to evoke colorful optical effects of single-use plastic that stand in stark contrast to the negative impact the material has on the environment.

The concept for "Polarized Portraits" was developed in collaboration between Studio Kajsa Willner and a Material Scientist from Lund University in a project (what matters) where science met design. (0 - series was shown in 2018 in an exhibition at Dutch design week, Northern Europe's largest design fair for cross-border design).
