Crowd, hall. Kiellberg's widow, 1716. 4: o. (56),1-384,383-468,(6) pp. Title page printed in red and black. Woodcut on p. 416.
The Hannås collection 650. Hammarsköld Index p. 20. With tribute verses by J. Bilbergh, M. Seth, P. Hesselius and Sophia Elisabeth Brenner.

Bound with: Bishops i Skara D Jesper Swedberg's Rettmätiga heders defense / against the v. president and archiatern, d. Urban Hierne's inconsiderate writing against thess Schibboleth, regarding the correct writing style of the Swedish language / drawn up and published in the year 1719 then 13 May. Later dehl. Skara, H. A. Müller, (1719). 4: o. 168 p. Contemporary leather binding.
Everything that came out. Ends with a tribute poem signed “N. Eel." In "Rettmätiga heders förswar" Swedberg addresses his critics. Of the work, only this latter part came out, as the first was forbidden to be printed. The permitted part is, however, quite sharp, because already on the first page of the text, Swedberg suggests that Hiärne is one of Lucifer's followers and states that "When the moon shines brightest / even the dog will gawk at him." "One of Swedberg's main areas of interest was the Swedish language. He worked out a more sonorous way of spelling, which i.a. was used in the church handbook and his own hymnal. Swedberg's linguistic reform proposal was first presented at the 1695 bishops' meeting and then further developed in "Schibboleth". Swedberg had taken the title from the Book of Judges, which tells how the Gileadites, who controlled a ford over the Jordan, used the word "shibbolet" to recognize passing Ephraimites, a people who were at war with the Gileadites: the Ephraimites could not pronounce the sj sound and a mispronunciation at the ford meant death. Swedberg had to endure a lot of criticism for his positions, not least from the conservative Urban Hiärne, with whom, however, he shared a skepticism against the use of foreign words in Swedish. One section of the book is a satire of this modern weakness for the foreign. In the book there is also an account of a mushroom that resembled a woman's head from Näs parish in Vartofta district and M. Seth's "Fontange sermon" about a stillborn and deformed child".
