During the 1950s and 1960s, the space race dominated news reports worldwide and the period has come to be known as the Space Age. This was also reflected in art, design and everyday objects and not least in toys from the time.
And now space toys have invaded Stockholms Auktionsverk in Gothenburg where we find, among other things, the "Attacking Martian Robot" and "Rotate-O-Matic Super Astronaut" from Horikawa, the "Television Spaceman" from ALPS and the "Lunar Explorer Delta 55" from Yonezawa.
For those who prefer objects that are more grounded, there are also Volvo PV 444 models from Lenyko, Barbie dolls from Mattel and motorcycles from Schuco.
