It doesn't happen often that a collection of this kind reaches the market. But when ceramics expert Joakim Bengtsson chooses to sell his life's passion, he does so at Skånes Auktionsverk!
And this is an auction far beyond the ordinary. Joakim Bengtsson is a native of Helsingborg and has spent his entire life in the antiques trade. The journey began early — at just four years old he bid on his first lot at auction. Over the years a particular interest took hold: ceramics, and above all those made on Scanian soil.
Now just over 260 lots are presented with an impressive breadth. Here are magnificent garden urns and stools shaped like stout penny bun mushrooms, stacked cushions in the English manner, turn-of-the-century vases with sinuous decoration, nodding figures from the 19th century, a butter dish with a charming lid, a brännvinsjungfru and Napoleon himself rendered in a pale glaze.
And of course there will be salt-glazed jugs, bottles and outer casings. Plus, naturally, a good deal more besides.
Welcome to Skånes Auktionsverk!
Please note! Some of the objects in the auction are included in the exhibition "Ferdinand Ring – Splendour, Prestige and Fired Clay from Höganäs" at Blå Hallen in Höganäs, 4 July – 13 September.
