There is an embedded cultural identity in Baltic art, and perhaps it is precisely that which draws people in. Or perhaps it is the discovery of high-quality works by the foremost artists of three nations. At Stockholms Auktionsverk Magasin 5 we are offered a precise selection of modern visual art from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
Rainer Kurm, who stepped onto the international art scene in the 1980s, is represented here by two works in a style typical of him. Ants Murakin — particularly well known in Sweden through his participation in the exhibitions Estonian and Latvian Art at Liljevalchs Konsthall and Baltic Art at Värmlands Museum — contributes a number of landscapes. And then we are given a welcome nudge into Mats Loosme's surrealist world of images.
Among much else. A warm welcome to Stockholms Auktionsverk Magasin 5 to discover Baltic Art!
