The Folkhem – today, what remains is largely the story of it.
An ideal, a vision of a society shaped by equality, security, and solidarity – like a well-kept home. Yet once upon a time, the Folkhem was very much a lived reality, brought into being by the social engineers of the era who strove for the common good.
In parallel, Swedish homes were furnished with furniture, lamps, textiles, and household objects. Many of these items have since become sought-after collectors’ pieces.
At Hälsinglands Auktionsverk, we are offered a glimpse of what illuminated this now-lost era. Here you will find desk lamps from the 1930s, lighting fixtures from the 1950s and 60s with teak details, the boldly colored plastic creations of the 1970s, as well as a few unusual models still awaiting identification.
