Art at Kolonn gives us precisely what we want – a concentrated selection of paintings, prints and sculpture. The auction house's specialists have carefully sifted through and hand-picked works with that little something extra. Such as an etching by Pablo Picasso, a male portrait by Ernst Josephsson and one of Gustaf Ankarcrona's caravans defying heat and desert sand as it makes its way through a landscape that seems to shimmer with warmth.

A pleasing Swedish modernism comes from Tor Bjurström, and a work in the manner of Hieronymus Janssens shows a distinguished company socialising in a most appealing setting, complete with a chequered floor, classically inspired elements and a baldachin hanging down to offer some shelter from the outdoors.
