It was a couple of decades into the 20th century that pewter truly made a comeback in Swedish homes. In a short time, decorative pewter objects became the height of fashion. During the 1920s, classicising forms predominated, which in the following decade were blended with the clean lines and fondness for geometric basic shapes characteristic of the Functionalist era. The range of pewter pieces quickly became abundant, with contributions from many different makers.
At Halmstad Auction House, we are offered a taste of what, almost exactly a century ago, was considered the height of modernity.
Warmly welcome!
