Crafoord Auktioner Stockholm has been given the honorable task of presenting the themed auction Vasa Konst Collection, a comprehensive selection of nearly 300 works from an outstanding art collection.
The auction highlights the natural place of art in the home, where it serves as a living element that awakens both the senses and the mind. The collection spans several centuries and styles, from Old Masters to contemporary Swedish artists, offering a rich and varied selection.
Vasa Konst is a family-owned business founded in 1993 in Uppsala, focusing on Swedish painting from the late 19th century to the present day. Through deep knowledge and long experience, the business has built trusted relationships with museums, institutions, and collectors.
Among the highlights are Sven Ekstedt’s 1920s portrait of the artist Maja Fjaestad, an early pencil drawing by Anders Zorn, Svea Nyman’s powerful still life, and Per Fischer’s atmospheric painting The English Villa from Syracuse. Also noteworthy is Alf Wallander’s Resting Wanderer, where social realism meets French-influenced plein air painting.
