An early sign of spring is the quality auction at Kalmar Auktionsverk. This time, the firm’s specialists have gathered nearly 250 lots, and as always, the selection is diverse, featuring works and pieces by both renowned and rarer names. It’s hard to know where to begin, but a few highlights deserve mention.
In the art category, an exceptional work by Arvid Nilsson stands out, along with a strikingly Öland-inspired sunset by Per Ekström and Ulrica Hydman-Vallien’s graphic portfolio Kärlekens Labyrint, containing no fewer than 25 lithographs. Among the furniture, a magnificent Baroque mirror, a drop-leaf table by master carpenter Lorentz Lundelius, and a cozy, inviting Josef Frank sofa catch the eye. The late Gustavian candlestick pair with provenance from palace architect Fredrik Liljekvist is something special. The same can be said for the Orrefors graal pieces, the silver cutlery set from Guldsmedsaktiebolaget, and Erik Höglund’s works for Boda.
A warm welcome to Kalmar Auktionsverk to discover the rest of the treasures at the 2025 Spring Quality Auction!
