At Stockholms Auktionsverk Göteborg, some of the finest, most amusing, and highly sought-after pieces have been saved over the past few weeks, now being presented under the theme Modern Art and Design Online! This collection combines works by Swedish modernists and international artists with design pieces that have already achieved classic status in just a few decades—and, of course, a few considerably more eclectic items. Erland Cullberg is represented with a large oil painting, and several pastels come from Inge Schiöler’s studio. Among the design objects, Poul Kjaerholm’s PK-61 coffee table stands out. The example was crafted by E. Kold Christensen and features a white marble top. In the auction house, it’s displayed next to four examples of Bruno Mathsson's Jetson armchair in black leather. Especially worth mentioning are Hans Hedberg’s strong-fired faience works, Alvar Aalto's zebra-patterned seating, and the expertly curated examples of art glass from Orrefors.
