A large bronze statue stands in Brunnsparken in Ronneby. It bears the distinctive name "Gubbkvinna" and was created by Kjell Hobjer, the train-traveling artist who hands out small paintings left and right. Locally, he is well-known and appreciated, represented at Blekinge Museum and somewhat of a perpetual machine in his studio. For the national audience, he may still be a relatively unknown name. But that could change now as Ekenbergs Auktioner presents almost 200 artworks by Kjell Hobjer. The seller of the vast majority of these works is the artist himself, who, due to a studio move (the space on Nyponvägen is now just a memory), can no longer house his abundant production. Thus, there is an excellent opportunity to acquire a painting in his highly personal genre, which has been humorously but aptly called "gubbism." In the extensive selection now available, several works have never left the artist's studio before. Welcome to Ekenbergs Auktioner!
