For those well-versed in Swedish ceramics, Mats Ferring is hardly an unfamiliar name. He was a collector, enthusiast, writer, and, not least, an expert. His area of interest was not limited to the country's borders. Mats Ferring was also well-versed in the history of Chinese ceramics, spanning thousands of years. And he was an artist, both as a painter and as a sculptor. At Laholms Auktionskammare, we meet the collector Mats Ferring. In a theme comprising 111 lots, we get to explore his favorites from his own collection. One of the top lots is a delightfully plump vase by Berndt Friberg. The same can be said for a vase from Wilhelm Kåge's Våga series and a potato-yellow piece by Rolf Palm. The latter is represented by several works in the theme, which might not be surprising, as Palm and Ferring developed a friendship when Ferring recorded Palm's thoughts and memories in a publication released in 2013. However, the aforementioned are just a few highlights. The collection also includes Chinese porcelain, a trio of rare jars by Karin Björquist, an artistic object by the pseudonym Johnny de Rooden, an exquisitely fine, 45 cm high, striped vase from Nittsjö, and, of course, much, much more. Welcome!
