Crafoord Auctions Stockholm presents a summer auction featuring an extensive collection of graphics by the archipelago artist Roland Svensson. The collection includes the portfolios "The Old Steamboat" and "Seasons in the Archipelago," as well as the prints "Winter Boat" and "Sandhamn Hole."
The painter, graphic artist, illustrator, cultural historian, geographer, and writer Roland Svensson (1919-2003) has enriched our perception of the archipelago. No one has been able to depict the entire archipelago environment with boats, wildlife, and people in the same way as he did.
The auction also includes a section of nautical objects with over 100 items. The collection consists of ship models, including the "ESSO Stockholm," as well as a 2-meter class sailboat model. Furthermore, a large collection of maritime literature is showcased, including works by Evert Taube and unique brochures, postcards, salon tables, and Cunard Line ship porcelain.
The auction is also filled with interior details and collectibles such as signal flags, compasses, pulleys and blocks, ship-in-bottle models, anchors, lanterns, boat wheels, paintings, seaman's chests, tin toys, a silver free-pass from Strängnäs Nya Rederiaktiebolag, and ship portraits by the artist Christian-Fredrik Swensson.
