Once upon a time, he started as a painter. With Otte Sköld and Isaac Grünewald as teachers, in that order. Not a bad start for an artist who became a potter. Or perhaps it's better to call him a pomologist with clay and kiln as his tools. But when we encounter his creations at Auktionsmagasinet in Vänersborg, we are faced with a master of glaze.
In 1949, Hedberg settled in Biot where he lit up the kiln. Four years later, he made his debut at Galerie Blanche in Stockholm, where his creations were met with enthusiastic critical acclaim. Over time, he became one of our greats, and his apples, pears, and cherries in giant format with immediate recognition became Swedish ceramic classics.
Warmly welcome to browse among 13 pieces created by an artist who mastered his craft to the fullest. The theme includes jars, vases, and bowls, as well as two of his coveted eggs.
