As Stockholms Auktionsverk reinvents the auction experience, it does so with a live auction where the firm’s specialists have carefully selected exciting, unexpected, and high-quality objects from all categories and eras. In many ways, The Signature Collection defines the world’s oldest auction house—at once a "best of" selection and a source of inspiration full of surprises.
One of the highlights is a summer dream by Hugo Birger, painted in Villerville the year before his death. The sky is vast, brilliantly blue, and just perfect for an artist wishing to immortalize the reading ladies on the beach, with their red parasol adding a vital accent.
This auction presents an extraordinary array of objects, including a pair of cassolette urns in Rännås porphyry from Elfdals Porphyrverk—exceptional examples of Gustavian-era Stockholm craftsmanship.
