Stockholms Auktionsverk Sickla has placed the works in just the right spots, positioned the sculptures where they belong, and is now ready to invite you to Art – Curated for the Fall. The selection consists of 50 artworks, ranging from 19th-century salon painting to contemporary photography. The styles vary, where Olle Baertling's triangles have as few touchpoints with Anders Zorn's Skerikulla as Ulf Rollof's sailor does with Jenny Nyström's Christmas greeting. Instead, the common thread is the concept of quality, running from piece to piece.
An unusual but exciting feature is a large canvas by the French expressionist Roger-Edgar Gillet. His style shows kinship with Erland Cullberg's painting and stands in sharp contrast to Nils Nilsson's horses or Axel Fridell's etched self-portrait. If any more names are to be mentioned, why not Erling Ärlingsson, Hans Gedda, and Carl Eldh?
