From an engraved 18th-century plate to a Japanese interior scene on a woodcut, to a Lindström demon in carborundum, there's a thread that weaves its way through the history of art, connecting all practicing printmakers, regardless of the techniques they've mastered. If we follow Stockholms Auktionsverk, we can explore nearly 200 works in this very broad genre. The emphasis is on modern and contemporary art, featuring pieces by renowned artists like Marc Chagall and Joan Miró. There are also works by Anders Zorn, Fritz Thaulow, and Carl Larsson. In more recent years, you'll find pieces by Carl Johan de Geer, Jan Håfström, Martin Wickström, and Ernst Billgren. A couple of excellent pieces by PG Thelander are, of course, included, along with Richard Mortensen's sought-after book with original graphics and a sheet from Rupert Smith's Greta Garbo suite.
