The Signature Sale September 2025

Stockholms Auktionsverk proudly presents The Signature Sale, September 2025.
The auction marks the beginning of an eventful autumn season and ushers in a new era following the merger with Uppsala Auktionskammare – a cultural-historical milestone in the auction world.
The sale presents a selection curated by our specialists, with over 500 lots spanning from the Baroque period to the present day. In the paintings section, a large collection of works by Oskar Bergman – an artist who in recent years has enjoyed international recognition – takes center stage. We are especially proud to offer works coming directly from the artist’s family. Nowhere is the breadth more evident than in the fine art department, where hand-picked works by Old Masters stand alongside pieces by Prince Eugen, GAN, and Lars Jonsson.
The applied arts section features several works by renowned ceramicist Hans Hedberg, with provenance from the artist’s own collection. Numismatists will find several noteworthy coins and medals in silver. The furniture selection ranges from a Baroque secretary with royal provenance from Drottningholm Palace, to tub chairs in the style of Ephraim Ståhl, and the much-loved 20th-century designs of Josef Frank. Among the top lots is a pair of outstanding Empire cabinets and a secretary – a model also found in the Royal Collections at, for instance, Rosendal Palace, where the interiors were privately commissioned by King Karl XIV Johan.
The auction also encompasses an extensive design department, offering everything from Swedish Modern to international 1960s and 1970s design, now attracting a wide global audience.
Whether you are seeking unique collectors’ items, striking interior pieces, or elegant everyday objects, you will find excellent opportunities in this season’s first major sale.
