June Fine Art Sale

Lawrences Auctioneers presents its Summer Fine Art Sale. The sale includes a wide range of fine art and collectables.

Among the silverware, you'll find George III pieces by Hampton, Prince & Cattles and William & Patrick Cunningham, a Victorian collapsible beaker bearing the crest of the Duke of Somerset, and cased tea sets.

The sale also boasts a sparkling array of jewellery and objects, including a Parisian enamel and gold scent bottle by Boucheron and a William IV silver vinaigrette with a horse racing scene.

The paintings and prints on offer range from Old Master engravings and topographical etchings by Robert Dodd to attributed pastels by Sir Thomas Lawrence and European school landscapes and portraits, including works by Edward Lear and Mary Beale. A selection of portrait miniatures includes works attributed to renowned artists such as Sir William Charles Ross and George Engleheart, including an anti-slavery depiction.

Sculptural enthusiasts will be drawn to the selection of bronze works, featuring a dramatic 'Victory' figure by Sir Alfred Gilbert, characterful Austrian bronzes by Franz Xaver Bergmann, and animal studies by Antoine-Louis Barye and Caroline Wallace.

The furniture and decorative arts section offers a diverse array, from Anglo-Indian inlaid boxes and tea caddies to needlework samplers, alongside a selection of rugs and carpets and Chinese and Japanese porcelain.

Finally, the collectables section presents a unique assortment, including a vibrant collection of vintage circus posters, charming Salco Series toys, a portrait of a champion racing pigeon with its gold medal, a classic Jumeau bisque doll, and fascinating Royal interest items.
