The Howell Collection of Lowestoft Porcelain

Bishop & Miller present The Howell Collection of Lowestoft Porcelain, showcasing the work of one of the most celebrated English porcelain producers of the 18th century. Known for its blue and white underglaze decoration and polychrome florals, Lowestoft porcelain remains highly sought after due to its relatively short period of production.

Highlights include an important inscribed mug dated 1790, a porcelain cat, and a rare early pickle dish. Alongside these pieces are a variety of tea wares, mugs and vases as well as less common forms such as feeding cups and a spittoon. Many pieces boast an excellent provenance.

You can view these pieces at our Stowmarket, Suffolk saleroom on the following days:

Wednesday 16 April 2025 9.30am - 4.30pm, Thursday 17 April 2025 9.30am - 4.30pm, Tuesday 22 April 2025 9.30am - 4.30pm, and on the morning of the auction from 9am
