
Collection comprising 590 handwritten receipts issued in the years 1860-1878. In overall very good condition with occasional tears and small stains.
Receipts issued to Rudolf Mauritz Klinckowström (1816-1902), military man, politician and owner of the estate Stafsund. The collection contains bills from a multitude of different business people, mainly in Stockholm but also in other Swedish cities such as Jönköping. The receipts relate to the purchase of everything from books, mirrors, shoes, clothes, meat, fish, yarn, medicines, firewood, toilets and sewing accessories as well as payment for things like hotel stays and travel with a hired driver. Many of the receipts bear engraved decorative letterheads while others are entirely handwritten.
Included are four handwritten notebooks and receipt books, i.a. one with the title "Notes on earthworks etc. during the summer of 1837", as well as about thirty letters and other documents addressed to Klinckowström of later generations, i.a. letter concerning the Red Cross's work with aid to prisoners of war in 1942.

Purchased at a book auction in Stavsund, probably late 1960s.
