Empress Michiko is married to former Japanese Emperor Akihito and was thus the Empress of Japan from his accession to the throne in 1989 until his abdication in 2019. She is the daughter of one of Japan's richest businessmen, Hidesaburo Shoda, owner of the flour company Nissin. The wedding took place on April 10, 1959. She is the first unsaved to marry a Japanese prince. Together the couple has three children. Signed note with the text "Season's greetings. With warm wishes". The signature mounted with two photos to a board of size 50 x 30 cm. Cover letter included. All proceeds go to Doctors Without Borders. Provenance: Uno Grönkvist's autograph collection.
