Palmstruch, J. W. & Quensel, C. / Swartz, O., text. Swedish Zoology, published by JW Palmstruch. With text begun by C. Quensel. And continued by O. Swartz. I-II. Printed by Carl Delén, 1806-1809. Two 8vo volumes in contemporary half-French bindings with gilt spine text and rich spine gilt, marbled covers and green splashed cuts. With 72 engraved and hand-colored by JW Palmstruch. The text is numbered a bit tricky, but collated complete.

Condition

The bands with some edge wear, but a pretty elegant set. The panels lightly toned. Plates 66 (Dynt-vomit) and 72 (Clock-animal) bleached and slightly more toned. Small stains in two lower text margins. Fresh submissions. Plates 27 and 28 incorrectly numbered (they have changed numbers).
