The almost unknown story of how Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes, became involved in an authentic murder case in 1909 in which an Oscar Slater, a German of Jewish birth, was found guilty by the High Court in Edinburgh. Asked by Slater's lawyers, Conan Doyle became deeply involved in the case for three years and helped to get Slater up. But the war intervened and then it took until 1927 before Oscar Slater was found innocent and released. In this little Six Penny Novel, Conan Doyle tells about the case.
