Bible. Charles XII's Field Bible. Biblia Thet is All the Holy Scripture in Swensko according to King Carl the Twelfth's Command. Etc,,, Henrich Keyser's Enkio., Stockholm, 1709. 4:oi a contemporary leather binding with full gold trim and marbled endpapers.(154), (1)-1095, (1), blank + (2), 3-323. pp. (III). With an extra fold-out title page as the front stove. Main title printed in red and black. A fold-out engraved portrait of Karl XII by Olof Thelott + a fold-out engraved plate (The Creation). The New Testament in addition with a fold-out engraved extra title page Since Charles XII's Bible from 1703 was so large and unsuitable for taking in the field, they had this printed, which has come to be called Charles XII's Field Bible due to its small format. It is usually heavily matted because it was in the field. The Field Bible is rarer than Charles XII's Bible from 1703.
Condition
The band worn and rubbed with small losses in the capital. The inlay layer stained. The copper stick with some losses. Edge tears and edge creases on some pages. A leaf with a larger tear without loss. Water stain at the bottom of the last leaves. A copy far better than the ones you usually see due to the dramatic history of this Bible.
