At Torneträsk he and his company thought he had arrived at his final destination and had carved in a stone (in Latin): Gaul gave birth to us, Africa saw us, from the Ganges we have drunk, and all Europe beheld; after changing fortunes on land and sea, we finally stood there, where the world ended for us." The same inscription is found in a piece of wood in Jukkasjärvi church. Regnard's travelogue Voyage de Laponie (1731) was not published in Swedish until 1945.
Sunned spines and stained covers with some rubbing. But well-cohesive bands. The text slightly layer stained here and there with some spots, not hard. In a couple of volumes a little wormhole at the inner fold without touching the text.
