Description

The decor composed by Oscar Nilsson, the inlays made by Ivar Johnsson, the motif showing Ovid's metamorphoses, jacaranda with several types of wood, hands and numerals with inlays, the front case signed Ivar Johnsson 1937, the back stamped HjJ (Hjalmar Jackson). Height 199 cm, 41x20 cm.

Condition

Minor surface damage, door locked, key missing, later rear parts dismantled but screws included. Pendulum, plumb bob and two (non-related) watch keys included, a plumb chain loose, CITES certificate included, numbering with some minor material loss, an hour marker is missing. Movement with uncertain function.
Similar to the one exhibited at the Nordic Furniture Art exhibition at the Paris exhibition in 1937.
