A pair of small French porcelain vases in the Sevres style with round porcelain lids, each with two colorfully painted oval flower medallions on a white ground, surrounded by gold-painted decorations on a blue ground, the end button in the form of a lady on leaves also gold-plated, the bulbous porcelain body in the same way with each four medallions painted and gilded on a blue background, glazed, mounted in a gilded bronze ( Ormulu ) mantle, each with two curved and richly decorated and pierced handles on the sides, pierced inwardly bulging upper edge on tapering and downwards widening round foot part with fluted Shank and burl decorations on a wavy floral bottom rim with eight delicate feet in the shape of shells. France mid 19th century. Height 13cm.
Good condition with signs of age and use, raised gold areas slightly rubbed off.
