History
The model was part of an extensive furniture collection consisting of about sixty different models, designed by Gunnar Asplund, Uno Åhrén and several other designers for Gemla Fabrikers AB. The collection was created for the Stockholm Exhibition in 1930 and was shown in the so-called hall for serial furniture, where the focus was on modern, functionalist design and rational production for a wide audience.

A variant of the model is published in Svenska Släjdföreningen's Tidskrift, 1930, p. 102, with the caption:
“Chair. Gemla Fabrikers A.-B., Dio. Co-worker E. G. Asplund.”
