Ex officina Elzeviriana, Amstelodami, 1672. 16th in a near-contemporary brown leather strap with gilt back text and rich gilt back decor and red splashed cuts.. Illustrated with an engraved title page and 38 foldable engraved maps. (XII), 388 pp. , (LXXV).
Philip Cluverius had long been regarded as the father of modern geography.
Measuring approx. 14 cm. x 9 cm.
Condition
The band with older professional repairs in the folds up and down and a little tarnished. But a well cohesive bond. Some small older notes on the front cover. Name stamp at the bottom of the title page. A clean and fresh copy with only a few temporary stains.
