HISTORY (translated from the accompanying information sheet): The Auto Union team and Italian driver Tazio Nucolari were very successful with the Type D. He won the Grand Prix of Italy and Donnington (both 1938) and the 1939 Grand Prix of Belgrade, which was the last Grand Prix in a long time and marked the end of a great victory.
In 1939, Hermann Paul Müller won the French Grand Prix with the Type D.
