STIERNHÖÖK, J. O. De jure sveonum and gothorum vetusto. Duo books... Holmiæ (excudebate Nicolaus Wankijf) 1672 (changed by hand to 1682)
4:o. (21), 1-40, 43-126, 125-133, 136-433 (irregular pagination), (2) pp. Half-parchment ribbon from the 20th century with title in gold on the back, patterned binding papers and marbled cuts.
Collijn 890. Stiernhöök is commonly referred to as “the father of Swedish law experience”.
Provenance: Karl Joar Westman (1939-2022) was a lawyer and banker, also a business owner in India and Sri Lanka. He was a devoted collector of antiques, painting, sculpture, arts and crafts and not least books. K. J. Westman followed all book auctions from the time of his studies and often visited countless antiquaries. The travelogues of older times particularly interested him, but he was also fascinated by the book craft itself and therefore had many beautiful tapes in his collection. He was the son of the State Councilor and Professor K. G. Westman and his wife Margit, née Printz.
Slightly sunny title leaf, a few brown-toned leaves, a singular leaf with moisture spots. Any note in ink.
