Barrel marked “ADDRESS ASSEMBLY COLT NEW YORK CITY”, body marked “COLTS/PATENT/U.S.“, six-shot drum with oval drum stops, drum engraving with “Texas Ranger and Indian scene” and “U.S. DRAGOONS /COLT'S PATENT, repeating control marking “N”, piston plates in walnut with cartouches, length approx. 35,5 cm.

About 7000 First Model Dragoons were manufactured during 1848-1850, the current specimen featuring the unusual “U.S. DRAGOONS” marking on the drum.

Condition

Slight wear, different fonts on the backstrap numbering, mechanically functioning at the time of cataloging.
