Description

Booktape/Handwriting. A brown 17th-century beech bvand in '8vo format lavishly richly gilded and delicately ornamented. Central on the binders an unidentified weapon in the form of a unicorn on the go. Down and at the top of the binders rectangles with the French lilies gilded. The binders are gilded into the smallest nook with floral braids, circled and other kinds of ornaments. Also the straps for the buckles are gilded decorated. The coppers are gilt and cisellated. The bobbinder does not confess, but similar ties emerged in Gergorio Andrecoli Rospigliosi's bookbinding in Rome around 1650-1670. It was the Vatican's official bookbinding and they tied for popes and cardinals.
Contains; An incredibly voluminous 17th century manuscript in Latin comprising 322 p. + 305 p. + 22 p. + 619 pp. It is a manuscript that is difficult to decipher, but is as far as we can tell about the theology and philosophy of Thmoas by Aquino.
Thoʹmas of Aquinas [(1225 - 1274), Italian theologian and philosopher, the greatest Catholic of the Middle Ages, saint, later called doctor communis or angelicus, the “common” or “angelic” teacher. Source Wikipedia.
