Description
Writing board and three smaller drawers and a larger one, decor of à la greque, lower box with trellis pattern, center with portrait medallion and bearing festoons, slanted corners, tapered legs with trailing foot sleeves, board in carrara marble, height 76, 93 x 50.5 cm
The design of the office returns on Fredrich Iwersson's intarsia furniture with two drawers, medallion, festoons and trellis motifs.
Jonas Westring (1772-1828) fertile from Karlskrona moved in 1783 together with his mother and siblings to Bunnström's middle farm in Gränna parish, where his maternal grandfather Nils Salvin lived. Nils was a carpenter and “laquerfabriker”. On 4 January 1798 Jonas succeeded his maternal grandfather and was granted permission by the Town Hall Court to work “carpenters and the Laquer handling here in the city”. At most, he had two employees in his workshop. He resided with his family south of Gränna in Reaby on Thorbjörnsgård.

Minor veneer damage and dry cracks, minor chips, the board and underlying frame not original.
