PAYKULL, Gustaf VON. Gustaf von Paykull's collected Swedish writings, first band (everything published) (1814); Domald, tragedy in fem acter, with chorer, (1783); Ordens vuurmen, comedie in tre acter first performed at the Swedish Theatre in Stockholm on 5 February 1785, (1785); Anacreon, Sapho, Bion and Moschus (translation by Paykull). 4 volumes.
Varied dimensions, largest book 230 x 190 mm.
Provenance: Clas Ifvarsson (1941-2012), CEO and CEO of Stockholm Stadshus AB. Former CEO of a couple of companies within the City of Stockholm and for a period active in municipal politics. His impressive collection of books consisted mostly of Swedish literature from the 17th to the 19th century, but also many other important works with an emphasis on Sweden. Ifvarsson was very interested in cultural history and also a dedicated and knowledgeable collector, which was reflected in his extensive library.
