Description

Height approx. 40, length 48 cm

History: Ernst Friedrich Moritz Schotte (1829-1895) starts in 1855, together with a co-owner, up his manufacture of globes. In 1861, the company moved to new premises on Potsdamer Straße 36, and in the same vein they began to produce their first advertisements, which in turn is seen as the starting point for the new business. Two years later, in 1863, Geografisch-Artistische Anstalt Ernst Schotte & Co was founded, a factory for relief globes and maps, telluriums, planetariums and smooth globes.

This model of tellurium is seen in an advertisement from 1865, then intended for candles.
