Cycladic art refers to the ancient artistic tradition of the Cycladic islands in the Aegean Sea, dating back to the Early Bronze Age (circa 3200—2000 BC). Cycladic art is associated primarily with stylized figures known as “Cycladic idols”. Sculpted from white marble, these statuettes showcased a minimalist-emphasized form, often depicting figures in a reclining or standing position. The purpose of these sculptures remains unknown, but they likely had a religious or funerary significance.
