The Inspection Check dated 14th March 1855, "this check is issued to show, receipt accordingly of letters of administrationdated London, on the 9th March1853 granted to Martin Gage "Gedge" of East Ruston near Stalham, in the county of Norfolk as the father of John Gage alias Gedge"

Note - HMS Electra was a 18 gun sloop which was launched in 1837 and sold in 1862. The Electra had been to King's Island to rescue the crew of two merchant vessels wrecked there, and had saved 20,000.

general marks and wear commensurater with age, some marks to corners.
