Description
Hallbäck, Hans Henric (1838-1885)]. The interpreter passes the final baccalaureate. Printed in Berlinska Boktiskeriet, Lund, 1864. Paperback 12:o.with captioned and illustrated cover. (II), 16 pp. The text signed '3 H = x'., which is Hans Henric Hallbäck (1838-1885), associate professor of aesthetics at Lund University from 1867, poet and humorous writer. He received his dissertation in 1865 and wrote for Lundakarnevalen in the same year a parodic-style exposé on the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, which led to a vigorous political debate in mainly the liberal press. + A tonal lithographed plate made by S. Andersson and dated 1864 (ca.52 cm. x 71 cm.) with 16 scenes of which a large central one. Several of the scenes have a short caption in Swedish or Latin.
The lithograph was published in connection with the reform that moved the matriculation exam from the univesity to the educational work.
