The box is veneered with several woods, likely blackened pearwood, rosewood kingwood, walnut root -
interior jacaranda, and under the base mahogany. brass inserts in the form of lines, cartouche with engraving, and original edge reinforcement on the lid. The object has been checked with the Swedish Board of Agriculture and does not need a certificate, as it is demonstrably manufactured before 1947.
